Maximum Maxims

On mental toughness.

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” ―Thomas Jefferson

“It is the business of little minds to shrink.” ―Carl Sandburg

“Strong minds suffer without complaining; weak minds complain without suffering.” ―Lettie Cowman

“Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they’re yours.” ―Richard Bach

“You have power over your own mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” ―Marcus Aurelius

All of the maxims above hold elements of truth. To the natural mind, these are the tools we use to overcome. The spiritual mind has other tools that the natural knows not. This is why the ancient Christian life of union with God is so vital to maximum living. It is the only life takes one into the very life of God, to be filled to all its fullness.

“But we have the mind of Christ.” – Paul, the apostle
